Traditional Glass ¬ Traditional Leaded Lights

One of the glories of a period house is the beautifully crafted stained glass work adorning its windows, doors, transoms, fanlights, room screens, lampshades and dozens of other household objects. At Armada Glass & Glazing Ltd we painstakingly recreate these wonders to perfectly compliment the grace and dignity of the period building.

This panel actually came out of an oversized inner door and was in poor condition and very badly damaged when it reached us. It was completely stripped down, re-leaded and cemented back to its former glory. We also made some modifications so we could re-size the panel to fit back into a kitchen window instead.

We crafted a Macintosh style design for this next example. The door originally had a Georgian style panel made from Artic glass and 6mm lead like the panels at the side and above the door. We managed to keep an even balance of Artic glass in the new design whilst incorporating pale English Muffles and clear Waterglass borders.

This is an example of how a new design, that is in keeping with the period of the building, can completely change the appearance of your home.
